ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Neovalys but most people call me Neo. I flew to the United States from Cuba with my parents when I was just five years old. They made this incredibly difficult and courageous choice to save themselves and me from the widespread corruption and hardships in Cuba. Growing up in a place that often still feels unfamiliar and distant from my roots, I found that art became both a vital escape and a powerful coping mechanism for the deep homesickness and longing I carried within. To me, art is so much more than just an image, object, or decoration—it is a profound feeling, a special place, a scent, something tangible you can physically touch that instantly transports your mind and imagination to a space where you feel safe, at home, and deeply connected. I see art reflected in everything around me, and I recognize the hand of God in this incredible beauty He has given us to enjoy and find solace in, especially during times when the world feels uncertain and overwhelming. For me, art is a meaningful way to reconnect when you feel lost or disconnected, and it is my heartfelt hope that every person who sees or collects my work will experience that same sense of connection and comfort that art has given me.
